HD Hyundai Construction Equipment Hosts Training Session for Women Engineers in Machinery and Robotics

2025-11-14

- Part of the 'Women Engineers Career Training' program at the Tech University of Korea's SME Training Support Center
- Includes special lectures on smart, eco-friendly construction machinery trends and VR/XR experiences

On November 14, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment teamed up with the Tech University of Korea's SME Training Support Center to conduct a corporate tour at its HD Hyundai Global R&D Center, welcoming 15 participants, including female engineers from the machinery and robotics sectors, along with their supervising professors.

The SME Training Support Center at the Tech University of Korea operates the 'Women Engineers Career Training' initiative in partnership with the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Resources, the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology, and Women in Science, Engineering, and Technology in Korea (WITECK). This initiative aims to enhance the involvement of women engineers from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the industrial sector, support their long-term career development, and secure vital technical talent.

During the event, attendees engaged in lectures covering a variety of topics, including eco-friendly product development, such as electric excavators and hydrogen-powered construction machinery, as well as innovative trends like digital twins and AI-driven construction site management systems.

Participants also enjoyed hands-on experiences, inspecting equipment in an XR-based virtual environment and remotely operating RC construction machinery at the VR Training Center.

Kim Sung-hwan, Team Leader from HD Hyundai Construction Equipment Global Training Center, commented, “The Global Training Center was recognized in 2024 by the Ministry of Employment and Labor as the first joint training center for industrial transition within the construction machinery sector.” He went on to say, “As a hub for nurturing future tech talent, we will keep expanding industry-academia collaboration programs like this one for female engineers, driving innovation in the construction machinery field.”
