HCE's Social Contributions For a Comfortable Tomorrow

In partnership with the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment organized the 'International Skills Olympiad Trials (Heavy Equipment Maintenance Division)' for four days from September 13th at the Global Education Center in Eumseong, Chungbuk. Also, we have been contributing to evaluation standards for the competition.

This trial aims to identify participants for the WorldSkills' Heavy Equipment Maintenance division since 2020 and assesses the competitors' skills in diagnosing and repairing issues and performance in construction machinery (excavator engines, hydraulics, driving, electrical systems, wheel loader systems, etc). The event proceeds in the order of practical tests, written exams, and interviews. This year, four participants with previous experience in winning medals in the National Skills Competitions in 'Agricultural Machinery Maintenance' and 'Automobile Repair' faced intense competition. As a result, MinJae Kim from Gimhae Construction High School and JangWon Seo from Sinra High School secured their qualifications.

Meanwhile, the two competitors will begin intensive training at the Global Education Center in October, and the last one in the second round of the trials in March next year will become a national player in the Heavy Equipment Maintenance category at the 47th WorldSkills in Lyon, France. We will remain committed to providing professional support to enhance the abilities of students who are challenging the heavy equipment maintenance competition.

HD Hyundai Construction Equipment is contributing to national defense by providing excavator maintenance training to the Capital Corps. For three days From September 19th at the Global Education Center in Eumseong, we conducted excavator maintenance training for soldiers in sister units of the Capital Corps, such as the 51st Division Engineer Battalion, 17th Division Support Battalion, the Army's 1117 Engineer Battalion, and the Air Force's 91 Airborne Engineer Battalion.

This training included basic lectures to help soldiers understand engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and specifications of excavators. It also covered practical aspects of failure diagnosis and corrective actions. We especially explained occasional accident cases and prevention measures, ensuring the safety of soldiers while using equipment and performing maintenance in their military duties.

Through this opportunity to gain specialized knowledge and pass on expertise, we hope the soldiers can benefit in their employment prospects after their discharge.

Before the Korean traditional holiday, Chuseok, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment shared warmth and love with those in need.

On September 26th, we held an event at the Bundang-gu Office in Seongnam, distributing kimchi to the neighbors before the Korean national holiday, Chuseok. 600 boxes of kimchi, valued at 30 million won (6,000 kg), will be delivered to over 30 welfare facilities in Seongnam, making the holiday season more heartwarming for less fortunate neighbors.

Previously, on September 19th, we also delivered 18 million won worth of household goods as gift sets to seven affiliated welfare facilities around the offices, including Hope Rehabilitation Center and Yega-Won, located in Bundang, Ulsan, Yongin, and Gunsan. We also distributed these gift sets to elderly individuals, low-income households, and Capital Corps in Eumseong (Chungbuk) and Cheongnyang (Ulsan).

We hope these small yet heartfelt gifts brighten the holiday season for all. HD Hyundai Construction Equipment will continue to dedicate various social contribution activities to create a better future, including the underprivileged neighbors.
