HD Hyundai Construction Equipment Shares Its Expertise in 'K-Construction Equipment' with Vietnam ▶ The company is collaborating with KOICA to donate equipment, develop curricula, and nurture talent in Vietnam.   ▶ The company seeks to expand its business and enhance its brand competitiveness in the region by engaging more with local educational and industrial infrastructure.   ▶ Since 2006, the company has contributed to the development of both domestic and international technical talent through its Global Training Center. HD Hyundai Construction Equipment has initiated efforts to cultivate technical talent in the construction equipment sector in collaboration with local universities in Vietnam.  On the 11th of this month, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Central College of Transport No. 1 (CCT1), a vocational training institution in Hanoi. This partnership aims to support a long-term human resource development project titled the ‘Green and Smart Construction Equipment Talent Project.’ As part of this agreement, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment donated a 22-ton excavator, which is in high demand in Vietnam, to assist with practical training.  This initiative is part of the IBS-ESG Initiative, an inclusive business program by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). The signing ceremony was attended by approximately 40 individuals, including Kim Byoung-soo, Senior Director of AM/PS at HD Hyundai Construction Equipment, Duong The Anh, President of CCT1, representatives from the Global Training Center, KOICA, the Vietnamese government, and CCT1. Through this MOU, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment will support CCT1 over the next five years with the following initiatives: - Supply of smart construction equipment and materials - Development of educational curricula - Support for participation in the WorldSkills Competition - Organization of job fairs - Education for vulnerable groups and local communities This collaboration is expected to train over 500 personnel, including students, faculty members, government officials, and current technicians in the field of construction machinery. CCT1 plans to gradually expand trainee recruitment, promote new technology education for instructors, dispatch instructors to Korea, host job fairs, and evaluate trainees to select outstanding talent.  HD Hyundai Construction Equipment believes that this agreement will help create a sustainable ecosystem for the construction machinery industry in Vietnam by focusing on developing infrastructure and educational curricula centered on eco-friendly and smart technology and providing equipment that complies with increasingly stringent emission regulations. This initiative is also expected to enhance the company's engagement with local education and industrial infrastructure, further boosting its business expansion and competitiveness in Vietnam. According to KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency), Vietnam's new construction machinery market is projected to grow at an average annual rate of 4.35% due to government urbanization policies, reaching a scale of 7,900 units by 2029. HD Hyundai Construction Equipment aims to establish a presence in Vietnam and subsequently target major developing countries, including India, Brazil, and Indonesia, to pursue new public and multilateral projects, thereby fostering global business growth and enhancing brand competitiveness. Additionally, since 2006, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment has operated a Global Training Center in Eumseong City, North Chungcheong Province, to provide advanced on-site training. The company continues to offer programs such as overseas technician training, domestic construction machinery maintenance training for new personnel, and athlete selection and training for the WorldSkills Competition, contributing to the development of highly skilled personnel in the construction machinery industry both domestically and internationally. ■Photo caption: Kim Byoung-soo, Senior Director of AM/PS at HD Hyundai Construction Equipment (third from left), and Duong The Anh, President of CCT1 (fifth from left), signed an MOU on the ‘Green and Smart Construction Equipment Talent Project’ at CCT1 in Hanoi, Vietnam, and posed for a commemorative photo. 2025-07-11
